看了Mr. Soo的”教育路, 百感交集” - [二零零五年三月] 篇
心中的确有些感触..
我一直认为, 在愉快的环境中学习是会得到最好的学习效果
所以我会尽量的把我的课上得愉快一些
也希望我的课是可以充满笑声和欢乐
师生可以打成一片
心想为什么学问不能从笑声和欢乐中得到?
但, 把课上得愉快一些
并不代表我对学生没要求
我是教基础班的, 基础打不好的话
接下来的路就会很难走
所以做我的功课
要达到我的要求
“我可以很友善, 我可以开玩笑,
但对功课的要求我决不会马虎”
这是开课第一天我一定会讲的话.
但, 往往把课上下来
师生之间熟了
学生只记得 “我可以很友善, 我可以开玩笑”
却忘记了”对功课我是有要求的!”
有好几次看到学生功课退步
心中很不好受
明明可以达到B以上的水准
为什么会满足于C呢???
结果就"大声"了几句
班上的气氛也僵了..
这不是我要的…
到底是什么原因学生会这样子?
是我教得不好?
还是方法用错了??
如何才能让学生达到”自我要求”?
如何才能让学生自动自发的自我学习?
我还要继续努力..

Ben, I coin 'comparison is odious' to refute part of your viewpoints. In no way do the students produce the same results as every student is unique. Unequivocally, good artworks are by the sweat of your brows. Poor work speaks eloquently of your effort, too. Well, if you've done your part in school with your clear conscience, it is admittedly beyond reproach. I truly understand your feelings. God will help those who help themselves. Sometimes, we cannot get their underlying reasons into proportion because we are just facilitators not saviours.
ReplyDeleteI beg you to poise between two attributes, one being the sloth of the students and other the incorrect teaching techniques adopted. Get a balance point that offsets both the extremes, I hope this benefits both parties.
We're quite oblivious to some students who do not have the knack for art. These students ask for a little more patience and guidance. Well, do not count your chicken before they are hatched. Who knows the would-be award winners are the weakest ones in your class!?
Teaching stems from love and patience. We are learners too.. :)

ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm averse to teachers' getting too close with the students. Being overboard may only let the pupils carry all jokes too far with you. Personally, no harm in showing your fierce side if appropriate. Of course, I hate monarchic system in class. If the teacher tends to hold back the students' ideas for the sake of his/her personal motive, I would send him/her jacket immediately. I do also give a four-letter word to come-day-go-day lecturers. A good lecturer must be a good parent who loves their children and helps them in any matter at all costs. Potty mouthed lecturers should not be allowed in any schools. Luckily, I heard good comments on you from most of your students. I believe you can brighten the future of your school in the arena of education..A last piece of sincere advice: one should never be content with their achievements, because one may be the big fish in a little pond..gambate..
ReplyDelete现在的学生多数都需要因材施教。有些人不需要督促他，他自然而然的把功课做好；有的你怎么盯着他都好，他不做好给你就是不做好......很无奈的！！！我们学生是当事人，尤其是在分组功课里，这种现象更是明显......
ReplyDeleteTerry, the phenomenon is commonplace and we've seen enough of these parasites especially in group work. What's expected of the lecturer? Sometimes, we don't rely heavily on the final product but rather the progress/process. Believe me, the hardworking students will eventually stand head and shoulders above the others and become more independent when dealing with solo tasks. These students will have no problem furthering their studies and monitoring mammoth projects. Your effort will worth your while, although not immediately, but soon which time will tell.

haha..but I think everything is going fine already..I'm sure everyone is trying their best now..^__^
I'm also always trying to do my best!..i just have bad time management (still trying to be more discipline on that)...
and I don't like losing..haha..even tho I dun show it here in dasein (I used to go up to ppl and say I won't lose to you!) haha..XD...
tried to be more mellow here coz I thought maybe that kinda attitude would bring negative stress..
as Eric said..a peaceful environment..XD...
I personally think you are a GREAT teacher!!..^__^..and I do enjoy attending your class. The world would be a better place if there were more teachers like you, teachers who constantly try to do their best and want the best out of their student..^__^
